Situated in residential area in Tokyo, Gallery EVE has an atmosphere of a Salon where visitors can feel themselves at home and fully appreciate the artworks.
Basically the show would be held for 1 to 3 months, presenting one artist at a time. For each shows 6 months would be spent for planning and preparation.
The gallery publishes a series of broadsheet, flat artbooks named “EVE So-sho” since 2000. 9 books are published by now and the 10th is being worked on at this moment. The concept is the collaboration of literature and the visual images of the gallery exhibitions. The creation of a book would be carefully made under elaborative discussions among a designer, editor and the gallery owner for its visual & intellectual quality.
“EVE So-sho” has been sold in Museums, such as Mori Art Museum (Roppongi), Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (Ebisu) Art Tower Mito (Ibaraki) and some bookshops specialized for art subjects on a commitment basis.
Either well known or not, the artist for the show are selected for his own unique and fresh sensitivity.
Presentation of the works at Gallery EVE is considered not just as hanging on the wall but as an sophisticated installation itself in relationship between the gallery space and the works. |
